This document provides an overview of the Kohler EFI Diagnostic Tool.

The Kohler EFI Diagnostic Tool runs on Windows 8 or newer. A dual core or greater PC is required.
If Microsoft .NET 4.5 is not installed, it will be installed automatically.
Viewing service documents requires the Adobe Acrobat Reader. It can be downloaded from Adobe here:

Download the Kohler EFI Diagnostic Tool installer executable from here:

Once downloaded, run the installer executable and click through the wizard.
NOTE: The Kohler EFI Diagnostic Tool has a 5 installation limit. If more installations are needed, an additional kit will be required.
When the installation is finished, launch the application. Click OK in the “What’s New” dialog, and the registration dialog will be shown. Enter your Kohler Warranty ID Number if you have one. If you do not have one, leave it blank. Enter the License Serial Number printed on the card provided in the 25 761 50-S kit. Enter your dealer contact information here and select Continue.
Registration will require an internet connection. Be sure to provide an email address that’s readily accessible to you.
The provided email address should then receive a confirmation email. Click the link in the email to register and activate the software. You should be directed to a web page that says "Your Kohler EFI Diagnostic Tool is now registered and can be used.”
The software can be run no more than 10 times without registration.
Connect the Kohler EFI Electronic Interface module to a USB port on the PC, and to an engine. Switch the engine ignition to the On position.
Click Auto Identify to select the connected engine, or select it from the list and click Continue With Selection.
Click the gear icon at the lower right to show the Preferences screen. The message at the lower left indicates whether the Kohler EFI Electronic Interface module is connected via USB, and whether an engine is connected and the ECU is communicating properly.
The Main Menu screen is then shown. All functions available for the selected engine can be accessed from this screen by clicking on the icons.
The currently selected engine is show at the top. The Back button at the bottom will return to the Engine Selection screen.
Active and Inactive trouble codes are listed on the Trouble Codes screen. The Clear Codes button at the bottom center will clear codes.
The Manual screen shows the service manual for the selected Engine. Adobe Acrobat reader must be installed.
The Guided Diagnostics screen shows the list of available guided diagnostics procedures for the selected Engine. An internet connection is required for this functionality.
The Live Data button the Main Menu will show available Data Sets. There are several built-in data sets, depending on the engine selected.
The ECU Information button on the Main Menu will show all ECU data available for the selected engine.
Click the Recordings button the Main Menu to list all recordings for the selected engine.
Click the Reports button the Main Menu to list all saved reports for the selected engine.
On the Preferences screen, select the desired language and units for data items.
If applicable for the selected engine, click TPS Initialize or TPS Auto Learn to run the procedure.
If applicable for the selected engine, click Base Timing Mode to check timing.
